Norman, Oklahoma — August 10, 2026 — HeyDay Entertainment announced today that its Norman location will end regular public operations on Friday, August 28, 2026, following an agreement to sell the property to the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for planned highway construction.

The Norman facility will continue hosting scheduled private events through at least September. Customers with events booked after September will be contacted directly to discuss available options.

“For nearly 20 years, HeyDay has been proud to serve Norman and the surrounding communities,” said owner Trey Bates. “We are deeply grateful to the guests, employees, schools, businesses, churches and community organizations that have made HeyDay part of their celebrations and family traditions.”

HeyDay will remain open to the public during regular operating hours through Friday, August 28. Guests are invited to visit during the remaining weeks before public operations conclude.

Outstanding HeyDay gift cards and arcade credits will continue to be honored at HeyDay’s other locations, including Bricktown, Denison, Hey Pickle Pickle and the soon-to-open Seminole location.

“We are especially thankful for the employees who created so many memorable experiences for our guests,” Bates said. “Our priorities are to support our team, honor our customer commitments and conclude operations in a manner that reflects our appreciation for the communities we have served.”

On Sunday, August 30, HeyDay will host a private celebration for the people who helped make the Norman location a success. All current and former HeyDay employees and their families are invited to enjoy complimentary bowling, laser tag, mini golf and arcade play from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m.

“I would also like to thank the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority,” Bates continued. “Although this has been an emotional process, the OTA treated HeyDay fairly and provided the flexibility needed for an orderly transition. After construction is complete, we can evaluate the possibility of rebuilding on adjacent property.”

Hey Pickle Pickle, HeyDay’s pickleball operation next to the property being acquired, is not included in the sale and will remain open in its current location.

“We are excited about the future of Hey Pickle Pickle and look forward to continuing its growth,” Bates said.
